Life After National Novel Writing Month
December is always a month of looking forward. I’ve finished another National Novel Writing Month, my 10th year participating in a row. It feels pretty amazing.
Yet the reason why this blog has been so sparse this week is because I’ve been recuperating. Or trying to. My dream of starting a new book has been limited to only a chapter or two while I deal with all the small things I put off during November so I could finish writing Speak Not of Murder.
I have to say, it still feels amazing to have finished that book last month. I don’t know if I’ve ever been prouder of myself. I’m itching to go back and edit it so that it’s one step closer to getting into your hands.
In the meantime, I’ve been editing something else! How to Fall for the Wrong Man (Ladies of Passion, Book 3) is slated for release on March 26th! If you’ve been itching for Mary Babington-Smith’s story, you’ll only have to wait a few months more. In this enemies-to-lovers romance, she falls for her godmother’s nephew, a man she’s been at odds with for years. I had so much fun writing and perfecting this, and I can’t wait for you to read it!
Before that releases, we have a release date for Lady Katherine Regency Mysteries, Book 2! You can expect Lady Katherine’s return alongside Harriet, Emma, Lyle and yes, even Wayland on January 23rd! Leighann and I are working out the details of the third book in this series and we’ll be starting work on that soon, as well.
With Mary’s story through edits, I’m turning my attention to the next romance novel on my docket.
And, of course, it’s the holidays so while all of these things are brewing, I’m finding a new balance as I immerse myself in reading, practice my drawing skills, and get in the holiday spirit! My to-do list this month is all about relaxation where I can find it. It’s the little things!
(Don’t worry, Edgar, I didn’t forget about you, too! There will be lots of playtime this month…though perhaps indoors if it keeps snowing as it has today…)
